A funny story about life and parenting...

Be careful what you teach your children,
they might be smarter than you think.

When my best friend left for San Francisco, I was pretty bummed out, because I needed trusted friends in my life. However, I did understand. People have to move on and live their lives. Plus, buddy and I were a hot mess.

Buddy and I just crossed the U.S. the third or fourth time. This time it wasn't fun, (read my previous posts). There is only so much racism, sexism, klanism, jim crowisms, and military retaliation one person and his dog can handle in a lifetime.
However, I knew that I would see my best friend again one day and buddy and I worked on our toxic relationships recovery.

I decided to teach Buddy how to grab a beer from the fridge. I figured what a great trick it would be to meet up again with your friend and buddy brings back a beer while everyone is hanging out. Just like the commercials during the super bowl. Awesome!
Nope, I tried, and tried, and tried to train Buddy. But he never brought back a beer.
Finally I just gave up
A couple of days pass by.
I come home and Buddy is barfing and spraying diarrhea everywhere. He used the trick that I taught him, opened the refrigerator, ate a whole pizza, all the left overs, three chocolate bars, and 6lbs. of a 10lbs. bag of dogfood. I was up all night and day for three days taking care of him.
I thought,
Damn, I broke my dog.
This memory is funny now, but it sucked then.
Life...
